Scaling OCR across dozens of documents requires more than raw compute. Keep these practices in mind:

  1. Normalise inputs. Encourage scanners to capture at 300 DPI, crop borders, and export to PDF to reduce pre-processing surprises.
  2. Segment queues. Route small ad-hoc jobs and large archival batches to separate workers so urgent tasks never block.
  3. Instrument latency. Log per-document turnaround and alert when service time spikes beyond your SLA.
  4. Standardise prompts. Curate prompt templates for tables, multi-column layouts, and handwriting so operators do not guess.

EasyOCR ships with queue metrics and configurable prompt templates, making it easy to embed into your batch-processing pipeline.
